My little series of nostalgic workers and hobbyists, who lived in paler times, started with just a few, like a short story but as each one emerged so another was waiting to be seen and heard. Now they are ready to fill a novel, written in Pictogram.
I'm not sure if these gentle individuals ever actually existed outside Ealing films but as my dear old Dad used to say, 'it takes all sorts to make a world.' And he wasn't talking about liquorice.
The small army of characters have now become a greetings card range, under the banner of Browning & Maude. It is still growing, currently standing at more than 50. It is available in Paperchase et al.
