I am not a designer but I am troubled by the daily pitfalls of communicating ideas. Words and pictures are processed by different hemispheres of the grey plastic mass that is the human brain. This is where the trouble can start.
From a primal fear of not being understood, I like to speak to both lobes at once whenever I can. In a subliminal pincer movement, I attempt to use considered layout for the transmission of concurring messages to the left and right brain simultaneously. It's a lot of fun, trust me.
Sometimes, I use words and pictures together, at others, I let the words or characters become the picture. I often take found objects, like an old typewriter or a pack of tired playing cards, and encourage them to wake up and say something new.
Each image on this page is a portal to the gallery it represents. The ideas are quite simple, occasionally funny and usually a little bit nostalgic. If your brain is set up correctly, these pages will be found pleasing.
